Working from home easier thanks to broadband

A good internet connection is essential for entrepreneurs starting up a home business, it has been claimed.
Writing for Freelance Adviser, Broadband Genie's Chris Marling said working from home can be extremely difficult without fast and reliable web services.
He claimed that acquiring a decent broadband connection can help get more done when home working, improving both efficiency and effectiveness.
"Thanks to modern-day technology, working from home is no longer a second-rate way of staying in touch with clients and colleagues," Mr Marling claimed.
"Broadband has become a vital lifeline for many home workers, allowing them to email or browse the web in comfort while also being able to send and receive large files with ease."
He urged business owners to assess their own broadband needs, and then search the market for the most appropriate package.
There is no point paying over the odds for the faster speeds and unlimited usage allowances if the web connection is simply to be used for light browsing and emailing, Mr Marling noted.
"Heavier users, meanwhile, will need to bag a home broadband deal that boasts a decent bit of muscle," he said.
Last month, Hugo Harber, director of convergence and network strategy at Star, claimed that the advent of unified communications technology is allowing businesses to recruit from outside their immediate area.
